Modelling the Material Wood Flow from Finished Products to Forest Woods

„The circle is unbroken!“ . . . . . Modelling the Material Wood Flow from Finished Products to Forest Woods As part of the Wood Resource Monitoring, the material flows up to the semi-finished products level were initially modelled. This work now involves the integration of the finished products level. The integration of finished products closes the cycle and ensures that it does not end halfway. The economic impact does not result from an intermediate stage in the production process (e.g. sawnwood), in which various demand processes converge in a non-specific manner, but from the intended uses (e.g. furniture construction). The TRAW model is a tool for analysing various problems relating to the circular economy. As part of the project, the effects of increased efficiency, material substitution and increased recycling were simulated using examples. The effects of these measures can be quantified along the value-added chain of the respective sectors of finished products. The report builds on developments in Wood Resource Monitoring over the last 20 years https://mediathek.fnr.de/wood-resource-balances-circular-economy-and-cascading.html). It is the result of the DIFENs project, funded by the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR FKZ 2220WK32B4).
